Moholy Nagy
László Moholy-Nagy was born July 20, 1895 in Bacsarsod, Hungary. In 1923 he took charge of the metal workshop of the Bauhaus. As a painter and photographer he worked predominantly with light. His “photograms” were composed directly on film, and his “light modulators” included mobile light effects. In the 1930s he moved to Chicago, where he organized and headed the New Bauhaus. Here are some examples of his work:

Alexey Titarenko
Alexey Titarenko draws his inspiration from the music and literature he’s loved since childhood, and his long walks through the city filled with lines of tired people standing in stores, wandering through flea markets, or crowded around subway entrances. All in all, Titarenko gives us an empathetic depiction of this transition: when old values are being discarded and new values, in the process of formation, are in doubt. Titarenko rose to prominence in the 1990's for his series of photographs in his native city, where his application of long exposures, intentional camera movement and expert printmaking techniques to street photography produced a powerful meditation on an urban landscape still infused with a history of suffering. In the decade that followed, his pursuit of the city of his youth took him to Venice, whose architecture served as a model for St. Petersburg and Havana, whose streets and buildings remained frozen in the Soviet era.

Developing my Ideas
Using Photoshop, I created these edits of my friends in places that were around the school. To do this, I took a picture of a place that I wanted as the back drop and a picture of them posing in place I wanted them. I then used Photoshop to merge them into the different scenes and made them slightly transparent to give them the ghost effect.
Urban Photography // Refining my Ideas
For this exam, I decided to g with ghosting theme, as that was the one I enjoyed the most. With some of my edits, I used Photoshop to make some parts of the image black and white and some with its normal colour.
Here is how I edited them:

The artist that inspired me for this project is Alexey Titareneko and I found out about him as we researched him in a lesson. During this project, I have learned how to use Photoshop effectively and use the skills to produce something that is linked to the artist.
